Alocasia zebrina x micholitziana 'Sarian'
Alocasia 'Sarian' - African Mask (M)
Alocasia is a family of hybrids originating in South East Asia, commonly known as the 'Elephant Ear'. The Alocasia 'Sarian' or 'African Mask Elephant Ear' is a popular for its striking deep green leaves accentuated by light green veins. The roughly serrated leaves often show deep purple-green shades and range in shapes from wide hearts to slim arrowheads with both glossy and waxy textures. It rarely blooms so is best kept mostly for its lush foliage.
Thrives in humid climate but can be supplemented in cooler climates by providing bright indirect sunlight when indoors. Mist regularly and water often with small amounts to ensure soil remains moist. Reduce water intake throughout colder seasons and expect your plant to lose its leaves below 7 degress celcius as the plant hibernates.
