Alocasia 'Zebrina' - Tiger Alocasia (M)
Alocasia is a family of hybrids originating in South East Asia, commonly known as the 'Elephant Ear'. Alocasia zebrina offers a highly decorative solution to indoor and outdoor settings. Large arrow-shaped leaves sprawl from long, tall stems providing wonderfully deep and glossy textures. *Note: this plant can be an irritant to the skin and eyes. Best to ensure children and animals investigate by looking only.
Thrives in humid climate but can supplemented in cooler climates by providing bright indirect sunlight when indoors. Mist regularly and water often with small amounts to ensure soil remains moist. During growing seasons fertilise every 2 to 3 weeks to promote high growth. Reduce water intake throughout colder seasons and expect your plant to lose its leaves below 7 degrees celcius as the plant hibernates.
