Calathea zebrina

Calathea Zebrina - 'Zebra' (S)

$19.95

Native to Brazil, Calathea Zebrina is a prayer plant variegation. The large velvety leaves are striking, in a bright rich green with darker green lines patterning the foliage. Truly sumptuous! The underside of its leaves are a discrete purple. New growth emerges as tightly coiled little pipes, which unfurl outwards, creating a leafy, full appearance. With proper care and time, your Zebrina can grow leaves 60cm in max length, adding elegant charm to any space.

CARE TIPS

The Zebra plant thrives off warm to humid temperatures, in bright indirect sunlight to low light shade, and away from draughts. Water regularly in warmer months to maintain soil moisture, but don't leave it sitting sopping wet. Water less in winter. Calathea Zebrina requires a peat based potting mix: 2 parts peat, 1 part perlite which is well drained soil and perfect for holding in moisture. Only use half strength fertiliser every two weeks during growing season.
