Chamaedorea elegans

Parlour Palm (M)

$29.95

Commonly used by interior designers, this attractive palm will brighten up your house while being easy to care for. From their slim, arching branches are feathery long light-green leaves (which is called pinnation). Parlour Palms have an attractive, full, leafy look while being hardy and easy-going to care for. The plant is a slow grower, however when it is fully matured, it can be quite large, reaching heights of up to a metre. Given the right light conditions and time, it can even produce bright yellow flowers followed by tiny berries in the springtime. This has been a popular houseplant since Victorian times - it is a classic for a reason!

CARE TIPS

To ensure this plant thrives within your home, keep it in well-drained soil and only water when the top part of the soil is dry. It is best to err on the side of forgetting to water rather than overwatering. It is tolerant of a range of light conditions but will thrive in bright indirect light.
