Fatsia japonica

Fatsia Japonica - 'Paper Plant' (S)

$19.95

Native to Japanese Islands, this subtropical evergreen plant is hardy and elegant that is able to grow well in most indoor conditions. Singular leaves of Fatsia Japonica each grow outwards from a robust slim stem. The large leaves are a unique shape, with eight long 'lobes' forming a circular shape - think somewhere in between the silhouette of an umbrella tree and ivy leaf. The name 'fatsia' comes from an approximation of the word for 'eight' in Japanese. An ideal indoor plant, especially for beginners, as it is quite hardy and easy-going.

CARE TIPS

This plant thrives best in a place that is shady without excessive sunlight. It grows better in warmer climates as it is a tropical plant, with its soil moist but not overwatered. Check the soil often as it can dry out quickly and mist it occasionally to mimic rain. The Fatsia may need pruning to maintain a bushy growth and glossy leaves.
