Ficus 'Audrey'

Ficus Audrey (S)

$24.95

Ficus benghalensis, aka Ficus 'Audrey', is the national tree of India. It is considered sacred as it is believed Buddha achieved enlightenment by sitting beneath this tree for 49 days. This elegant plant has large oval-shaped leaves with bright white veining that are covered in a fine, soft fuzz on both sides. It is the largest of the ficus family, and can reach up to 30m when fully mature and grown outdoors! Indoors in a decent sized pot, it will grow to around 2m tall.

CARE TIPS

The Ficus Audrey is a lot easier to care for in comparison to its cousin, the fiddle leaf ficus. Best in a position with high levels of bright, indirect light or direct sunlight, but will need to be acclimated to receive full sun. Prefers consistently damp soil, but allow for the top layer of soil to dry between watering as too much moisture will cause leaves to drop. Provide nutrients via liquid fertilisers during growing periods to maintain lush, healthy leaves.
