The Bird of Paradise is a tropical plant native to South Africa. Birds of Paradise enjoy moist (but not soggy) soil, and like to be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings. Try not to let the soil dry completely, however. They can grow to about 6m tall in ideal, sunny climate and are reasonably drought tolerant.
