Lithops
Lithops (XS)
Lithops, better known as Living Stones, is a genus of succulent native to Southern Africa. These small, low growing plants are saught for their cute, wrinkled leaves resembling brains! Lithops are slow growers, and have a very unique growth pattern that brings much of their appeal. As a new leaf emerges, the current one splits in half to allow for new growth. Natively grown in harsh conditions, Lithops are accustomed to strong sun, and stony, poor soils.
CARE TIPS
Lithops require very minimal care. Direct sun, or very bright indirect light is essential for the plants survival. Being a succulent, Lithops retain a lot of moisture in their leaves, and thereby require very little water. You should only water when the plant has shrivelled completely, and do so very sparingly. Generally this will occur twice a year; Once in Summer when you see new growth emerging, and once in Autumn when old growth has completely shrivelled and fallen off. Your Lithops will do best in a well-draining, sandy cacti & succulent potting mix.
