Pedilanthus tithymaloides - Zigzag Plant / Slipper flower / Devil's Backbone (M)
The Pedilanthus tithymaloides is an intriguing plant, with succulent wiry stems that grow in a zig-zag formation, from which sprout individual small leaves. The mid-green leaves are lance shaped, and can take on a blush in sunny conditions. The bract colour, from which flowers bloom, may be white, green, red, or pink. If you're looking for a plant full of character for decoration, the Pedilanthus tithymaloides is perfect for you.
As the Pedilanthus tithymaloides is a succulent, it is best kept in bright conditions where it can gather as much sun as possible. Water Zigzag plant regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to become just moist. Reduce watering slightly as the season transitions into winter, but do not allow the soil to become bone dry.
