Phalaenopsis orchid

Phalaenopsis - 'Moth Orchid' in ceramic pot (S)

$29.95

Phalaenopsis, commonly called Moth Orchid, are the most recognised orchids due to easy production for its year-round availability. Tall thin stems bloom elegant flowers in a wing-shape, whilst curved green foliage grows beneath. This orchid requires minimal care and is suitable to decorate an office or dining table. Once the Phal matures, the flower longevity extends and enlarges.

CARE TIPS

This plant is best located under bright, indirect sunlight - anything more intense will result to scorched leaves. Avoid hot and cold draughts. Orchids flourish best in humidity so maintaining moisture in the soil is a must. Consider moss and pebbles as the top layer to the soil. However, maintaining humidity and watering are two different things. Orchids prefer to be on the dry side, so watering this plant should be done to a discretion (don't let the roots sit in water). Cut the spike just above the first strong bud (approx 20 cm above the pot) when flowering has finished.
