Philodendron 'Prince of Orange'

Philodendron 'Prince of Orange' (S)

The Prince of Orange is a hybrid Philo with light green foliage that produces new growth in bright yellows and oranges that mature into coppers and dark greens over time. Unlike other Philodendrons that are climbers this one is self heading which means the large leaves grow from the centre base. In ideal settings, the Prince of Orange can double its size each year with older leaves, reaching lengths of up to 40cm, and eventually falling away making room for newer growth to take their place. It is great outdoors as colourful landscaping fill or indoors where their elliptic to ovate leaves can display their striking colours and brighten up your home.

Easy to care for and best in soil that is consistently slightly moist so water once topsoil is dry but avoid sitting in water or soggy soil. Rotate your plant periodically to allow for even growth on all sides and dust the leaves often so the plant can breathe. Trim to maintain size or allow to grow by re potting in spring or summer.
