Ficus benjamina 'Golden Monique'

Weeping Fig - Golden Monique (M)

Hailing from India, China, Malyasia and Australia, The Ficus Benajmina or 'Weeping Fig' is a very popular house plant with great tolerance to a variety of lighting conditions and is great for purifying air. It has an elegant waterfall-like movement with glossy leaves with pointed tips gravitating downwards. 'Golden Monique' has splashes of light green on its leaves a distinctly wavy margin and is usually grown as an indoor or patio plant. Monique also has a greater resistance to leaf drop making it a superior houseplant for beginners.

Loves humid environments and tropical climates, so spray with room temperature water every few days. It requires moderate watering and fast draining soil and do not let it sit in water. It prefers bright indirect light or filtered light and should be shaded from midday sun and temperatures of over 15 degrees celsius. This ficus will shed its leaves if under stress such as a sudden relocation or extreme temperatures and can be pruned as it grows.
